Just a short drive today to Panajachel a small town on lake Atitlan.
One of my planned activities in this town was to visit Reserva Natural Atitlán where they have some long zip lines that run along the side of the mountain overlooking the lake. Had I known what I was in for I may not have done it, but I am glad that I did now. it wasn't the zip lines that were the problem, I thought they were well run even though the operators only spoke spanish, they went over the safety procedures and assisted at every step. No the problem was I had to first climb the mountain that we were ziplining down, this coupled with the altitude of nearly 2000 mtrs, made it tough going for me going up.
it did please me though when the others in the group doing it asked how old I was, and when I told them I was 63 the were surprised as they thought I was in my 50's.
Also at this place was an enclosure where there were some very colourful butterfly's. After this I walked another few kms back to town, got a shower and rested for an hour before heading out again to see some local celebrations and fair and get dinner.

Glad you enjoyed the zipline John. Take it easy, you still have a long way to go mate.
