After breakfast we took another bus to the city of San Cristobal de las Casas, which should have taken just 5 hrs, but because of the bad main road and the local Zapatista movement has been quite active, occasionally holding protests or blocking roads, the bus went via a very circuitous route which took 9 hrs. The land has changed from a flat limestone countryside to mountainous, the temperature and humidity has dropped considerably and I was wearing a jumper tonight.
The town of San Cristobal de las Casas has an old friendly feeling with many of the building painted various colours, after settling in to our hotel we took a walking tour around the town, many of the streets are pedestrian only with food vendors and street traders everywhere. No restaurant dinner tonight as we ate on the street, started with a cup of corn in which they mix mayonnaise, cheese, and chilli sauce, tasted good, then a tamales, and finished with a milk rice, which tasted like milky creamed rice.
While coming into town and walking around we passed several building damaged by the recent earthquakes.

I love milky creamed rice. Hows you're belly coping with the food?

Deletethe food has been great so much variety, no problems so far. My leg has been holding up pretty well although today I did the ziplines in Panajachel and felt like I climbed the mountain first, but hopefully it will settle down overnight.
