It was a long days ride today and although the conditions were mostly fine, we rode through rain, hail, and 2 thunderstorms with lightning striking all around, I changed in and out of my wet weather gear 3 times, phew. because of this I didnt stop to take too many photo's.
we did stop for a short time at one of the Inca gates that guarded the Cusco valley, the meal at the lunch stop was interesting and tasty "Cancacho", Lamb shank and a baked potato, which was quite different from the potatoes we get in Australia.
the ride was still quite spectacular with high snow covered mountains rising on each side of the Altiplano, which.is the most extensive area of high plateau on Earth outside Tibet, finally arriving at Puno on the shore of Lake Titicaca.
