Oruro - Uyuni - 325 Km

We continue to head south over the Altiplano which seems to never end, it treeless with sparse grass as feed for the llamas. Unfortunately a could of the bikes broke down with electrical problems within 30 mins of leaving town, so this delayed us for a couple of hours, but didn't stop us from completing the program for today.

After about 4 hrs across the plains we get to the east shore of the Uyuni salt flats. Here we rode onto the biggest salt flats in the world: Salar de Uyuni. First we drove over these amazing salt flats to "Playa Blanca" a hotel built entirely of salt. We then continued on for another 70 Kilometres on the salt to Cactus Island, the 70+ km back to our starting point.

after this we made a visit to the train cemetery close to Uyuni, before going to out hotel in Uyuni.
