Machu Picchu

Wow, just the trip to get to Machu Picchu was stunning, a 90 min train trip along the Urubamba river which is a deep canyon through the mountains for the whole trip, stunningly high peaks some covered in snow stretch upward for over a 1000 mtrs along the river, then a 30 min bus trip to get to the entrance to Machu Picchu.

Then we had a 3hr tour through Machu Picchu which was amazing to see, and again more steps, up and down the mountainside, which although made my leg quite sore, I wouldn't have missed for anything. Then we spent some time in the town before returning by train to Ollantaytambo.

We were quite lucky as the weather today was fine, yesterday it was raining and foggy and you couldn't see 10 mtrs , and it started raining again after we had left.

last riding day in Peru tomorrow before crossing the boarder into Bolivia the day after where we pick up new bikes.
