Just to start the trip I nearly missed the flight yesterday at Perth, I went in early enough, but got held up because the body scanner picked up something in my groin area! my money belt, and they took me to a private room to firstly fill out paperwork then I took off my money belt which they then took for a scan along with all my bags for a second time, talk about officious. Apart from that all well, and I got a few hours sleep on the plane, pity about today being canceled, but rescheduled for Wed, hopefully better weather. So wandered around a bit today got a couple of uber's, cost less than $6 each, and in the harbor shopping area came across a few street performers which I really enjoyed, including an African singing & dancing group.
Tonight went to an African Dinner & Drumming Experience, which was very good with entertainment going on throughout the evening, including giving all the diners drums to play for part of the evening.
The meal of 14 different dishes started off being really good and tasty with most of the entrées being good, but the main courses were not to my taste, and unfortunately the deserts were disappointing. some of the standouts for the evening were Tomatoes soup spicy and tasty, one of the best I've had anywhere, the Malawian kandoli Balls were delightful, made from sweet potato, and although the venison pie was more of a stew it was full of flavour. One of the main courses was a mango chicken curry, but not as good as my wife's.
