Leaving Spitzkoppe behind we only had 40 km of dirt roads before we hit the mostly sealed roads, but these were probably the worst sandy stretches that we had encountered, but as we have been travelling on these sort of roads for days they caused us no issues, we stop briefly at a gemstone market before heading inland leaving the desert behind and into scrubby looking country and on to Okonjima Game Reserve, where we leave the bikes at the gate and catch a shuttle in as there are wild animals around, and we are not allowed to ride in. We then went for a late-afternoon safari drive before dinner. overnight at Okonjima Lodge Plains Camp.
