Darjeeling 18 Mar

I met up with the rest of the tour group, a total of 12 people including myself & the guide, and including 3 couples. All of them are from Austria & Germany, and the guide is from Bhutan, luckily some of them speak some English, and the guide speaks English & German. Gundula, one of the Germans is a flight attendant who speaks good English, and she has been a great help in translating for me.
An easy 55km cruise along the border to Nepal and through the famous tea gardens, on the way we stopped for chi tea and for a few mins stepped over the border to Nepal. The road winds and crosses the railway tracks about 20 times, then passed the miniature Darjeeling Tea Train, it was great to be able to see this, although one of the riders had a minor fall when he got his wheel caught in the railway line when crossing at an angle. We get to Darjeeling with enough time to explore it on foot, overnight Swiss Hotel, Darjeeling.
