22 Mar Kalimpong - Puntsholing

Woohoo, I'm in Bhutan. Todays longer ride of 230km was great, firstly winding up and down narrow mountain roads through an increadible tropical forrest, the road was great for riding, at one stage I got left behind taking photo's and had great fun catching up. Eventually we came down into more hillside tea plantations where we stopped to wach some of the pickers.

Then down into the plains and along the Assam tea gardens where there seems to be a never ending sea of tea plants. We ride for some time along a main highway, which is typically clogged with traffic, and in some places the road is so bad it is easier to ride on the dirt at the side of the road. We finally get to the boarder, and into Bhutan. We will spent the night at the Hotel Lhaki on the Bhutan side of this Jaigon/Phuntshling border town, this afternoon I walked the town and tonight hopefully my first tast of and Bhutanese food.
