Although this is just a short ride today, we have to cross Cook Strait on the inter-island ferry, this was supposed to take 3.5 hrs, but due to some technical dificulties it was delayed by 2 hrs.
Very picturesque as we cruise through Queen Charlotte sound and then enter Picton harbour. Once off the ferry we traveled along more winding roads and beautiful hilly country to Nelson where we stay for 2 nights.

The weather has been good up until now, but looks to be changing and heavy rain is forecast for tomorrow, which is an optional local mountain ride, we will see what the weather is tomorrow before deciding to go on this.
